With the 2025 World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship just a few days away, it’s time to reveal the ILA’s roster.
Twenty-two athletes and a strong staff will represent Israel on South Korea’s Jeju Island from August 15-24 in the latest renewal of the Men’s U20 Championship. It is the second time ever and first time since 1996 that East Asia will serve as the tournament’s backdrop.
The last iteration of the Men’s U20 Championship occurred in 2022, though it was the Men’s U21 Championship at the time. The Blue-and-White placed 10th in that tournament.
Israel will be one of 20 nations to send a delegation to Jeju Island this summer, accompanying 16 other returning nations from the 2022 edition, including all top-10 finishers. Each of the four World Lacrosse Continental Federations will submit at least two teams to the tournament. The list of participating nations is:
Australia; Canada; China; England; Germany; Ghana; Haudenosaunee; Hong Kong; Ireland; Israel; Jamaica; Japan; Kenya; Korea; Mexico; Netherlands; New Zealand; Puerto Rico; Chinese Taipei; United States.
Israel has been slotted into Group D, alongside China, Ireland, and Mexico. The Blue-and-White will begin its journey on August 15 with a matchup against Ireland at 12 p.m. local time, then return to the field two days later to take on Mexico at 11 a.m. local time. Israel will face China on August 19 at 1 p.m. local time to close out its group play. The playoff and placement bracket portions of the tournament will take place from August 20 through August 24, the date of the gold and bronze medal matches.
The 2025 Men’s U20 Championship will mark Israel’s third entry into the event. The country made its debut in 2016, earning sixth place in Coquitlam, Canada, that summer. It remains Israel’s best-ever finish in the tournament.
The coaches and athletes headed to Korea will aim to meet or exceed that mark. These are the proud people will who don the Blue-and-White on Jeju Island:
