The 2025 Heritage Cup is sizing up to be the biggest one yet.
An anticipated 35-plus nations across seven divisions will converge on Weston, Massachusetts, this Memorial Day Weekend. Weston High School, located about 15 miles west of Boston, will host the record-setting event.
Since 2016, the Heritage Cup has brought together the North American lacrosse community in a celebration of the game. Athletes from throughout the continent play for their heritages, participate in cultural exchanges, and contribute to the development of international lacrosse.
Since the initial iteration nine years ago, the tournament has grown tremendously. Four teams in one division anointed this annual tradition. Now, roughly six-times as many countries are represented, and a wide range of divisions are included.
Last year featured the introduction of the Women’s competition to the Heritage Cup. This year marks further expansion with the inception of Girl’s divisions; the tournament now supports Men’s, Women’s, U-19 Boy’s, U-15 Boy’s, U-15 Girl’s, U-13 Boy’s, and U-13 Girl’s divisions.
Israel in the Heritage Cup
Israel has a rich history in the Heritage Cup. The ILA participated in the inaugural event, then known as the International Lacrosse Showdown. It has sent delegations to every Heritage Cup since, placed at least one team in every division offered, and achieved four division titles. The streak will continue in 2025 as Israel Lacrosse looks ahead to its eighth-straight Heritage Cup – the ILA is now accepting registrations for this year’s tournament!
Our players will all take the field donning the Blue-and-White, representing something bigger than themselves. Additional on-field training for Israel’s youngest players will be available, too. Israel Lacrosse will hold an Israel-only clinic for all U-13 and U-15 to learn under the organization’s best lacrosse minds. All Men’s, Women’s, and U-19 players are encouraged to help coach the clinic, a chance at an educational opportunity and to harness the sport as a connector within the Jewish and Israeli communities.
Shabbat Dinner Hosted by Dan and Wendy Kraft
The ILA has teamed up with the Kraft Family to solidify an outstanding Heritage Cup weekend for the hundreds of Jewish families that will descend on the Boston area this May. All of our teams are invited to a Shabbat dinner on Friday, May 23, hosted by ILA Board Chair Dan Kraft and his wife Wendy Kraft at the world-class VIP G-P Atrium function space at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. An overlook onto the same field that entertains the New England Patriots every fall and countless other marquee events throughout the year will set the scene outside while our members, players, and their families enjoy the luxurious interior of the state-of-the-art event space. Photo opportunities with the franchise’s six Vince Lombardi Trophies, a tour of the stadium’s iconic Lighthouse, and more exclusive experiences will take the night to the next level.
The evening will serve the ILA’s annual signature event for community connection, brand storytelling, and relationship building among attendees and key organization members. It will be the perfect chance for the wider Jewish and Israeli lacrosse worlds to eat together, schmooze, share their heritage, enjoy a spectacular setting, and foster unforgettable friendships among our people!
2025 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Championships
On top of it all, Israel Lacrosse will provide all of its teams with tickets to the 2025 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Championships!
For the first time since 2018, the NCAA Tournament returns to Gillette Stadium from May 23-26, 2025, situated just a short distance from the Heritage Cup. When our players aren’t playing, we encourage them to take in some of the best lacrosse on the planet to officially stamp to the perfect lacrosse weekend.
