Israel Lacrosse has filled its roster for the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship.
From July 24 to August 2, 16 national teams will come to Tokyo for the next edition of the world’s premier female international field lacrosse competition. Most of the event’s games will occur at The Oi Stadium, and Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium will hold the tournament’s four medal matches and semifinal round.
This summer will mark the 12th all-time World Lacrosse Women’s Championship and Israel’s fourth appearance since first competing at the 2013 iteration in Ontario, Canada. The Blue-and-White finished eighth at that tournament, then sixth in 2017 in Guildford, England, and sixth again in 2022 in Towson, Maryland.
Whether 2026 will bring even better results for Israel remains to be seen, but ILA Executive Director Ian Kadish likes the team his organization has compiled.
“The core of this group has lived together in Israel and done a lot with ILA,” Kadish explained. “They’ve come on gap years, they’ve coached at the Heritage Cup. There’s been a lot of touchpoints for a lot of this team, and it’s been special to have this group together for so long.”
The upcoming Heritage Cup, which Rider University will host from May 22-25, will serve as the team’s training camp ahead of the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship.
For the first time, all 16 teams had to qualify for the tournament via continental qualifiers. Other than Israel, the 15 other nations in Tokyo will be: Japan (host, Asia-Pacific), Argentina (Pan-American), Australia (Asia-Pacific), Canada (Pan-American), Czechia (Europe), England (Europe), Germany (Europe), Haudenosaunee (Pan-American), Ireland (Europe), Philippines (Asia-Pacific), Puerto Rico (Pan-American), Scotland (Europe), Chinese Taipei (Asia-Pacific), United States (Pan-American), and Wales (Europe). World Lacrosse has announced the official tournament schedule.

Many of the athletes who will represent the Blue-and-White this summer are raising funds to help cover travel and logistical expenses. Coaching & Support Staff
The ILA has finalized its coaching staff for the 2026 World Lacrosse Women’s Championship. Longtime Israel Lacrosse veterans Kate Goldstein and Sophie Bass will serve as co-head coaches.

Each coach’s extensive experience head coaching Israel Women’s Lacrosse National Teams made a shared title make sense, Kadish explained. Bass was head coach of the team Israel sent to Portugal for the 2024 ELF Women’s Lacrosse Championship two summers ago, and Goldstein led the ILA’s last Women’s Sixes Team.
“They’re both head coaches, and their qualities complement each other,” he said. “To have both awesome leaders together is amazing. They do a lot beyond coaching for us, and they have done a lot to maintain our female player pool. It didn’t feel right to make them both anything less than head coaches.”
Delaney Benson will join Goldstein and Bass in Japan as their assistant coach. Benson played for the ILA for years before continuing in the organization as a coach and is currently in her third season as head women’s lacrosse coach at Chapman University in Orange, California.
Hannah Berg will serve as the team’s physio and has been with Israel Women’s Lacrosse since joining the program at the 2015 European Championship in Prague.
